The most well known neighborhood in the Highlands, Cherokee Triangle, is named after neighboring Cherokee Park. First developed in the late 1880s to be "the best possible environment of suburban living." Building really took off in 1891 with the opening of Cherokee park, especially among Louisville’s more affluent families.
